My career history isn’t too complicated. I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2010 with a degree in Marketing and a split minor in Graphic Design and Chinese. I worked for a short period at a company called OpenBook designing websites for small hotels, inns, and B&Bs. I have done freelance work over the years including the Green PolkaDot Box, Hampton & Grace, and Whiteforge Technologies. But my longest employer has been SirsiDynix, a library software company out of Lehi, Utah. I worked as a Graphic Designer for 6 years for SirsiDynix, mostly in Marketing, with a short stint setting up their UI Design group in the Engineering Department. I like having variety in my work . I’ve had a chance to dabble in design for billboards, tattoos, t-shirts, furniture, animation, and video, while developing a solid core designing for print, presentation, and web marketing materials. I have grown tremendously in my work for SD. This growth is most apparent to me in my application of color theory, my ability to critique designs in a meaningful way, my experience dealing with failure and disagreement while strengthening relationships, and my increased confidence in illustration. As the senior Graphic Designer on staff I had the wonderful opportunity of training and mentoring new designers, which has been a passion of mine. I also trained both SirsiDynix staff and customers in basic presentation and UI design guidelines.
My personal history isn’t complicated either. I’m the mother of two beautiful children and the wife of a passionate entrepreneur. I love to read and I love to get to know people. My husband and I are always chasing some new adventure or other, and change is a welcome part of our lives.
